DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, "Mermod & Jaccard's St. Louis Paragon Time-Keeper" with hourglass image to mvt and dial, Grade 941, 21J, 18S, gold-filled HC recase with very attractive engraving detail including a small home scene to rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#121402. An excellent example of this rare watch, the "Mermod & Jaccard's St. Louis Paragon Time-Keeper" has a unique appearance with elegant hourglass logo to its movement and dial. These watches were made by Hamilton in four grades of 21 jewel movement (940, 941, 942 and 943) as well as two grades of 17 jewel movement (926 and 927). From the collection of Dr. Robert Restuccia.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, small bit of abrasion to inner perimeter of barrel bridge adjacent regulator adjustment screw, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with faint outer chapter hl at 1, very small flake to lower rim of seconds-register hole; excellent hands, some small bits of oxide to spade and tip of minute; case shows very little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, some scratches to cuvette from slipped past openings; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
